Coaching Organisation

Players will receive 12 hours of football coaching time each week. This will be at the discretion of the Head Coach and will take place at the school. Players will be advised as to the days and times when they begin the course.

The matches take place on Wednesday afternoons in the Nationwide Conference Youth League. This is the Premier National competition for non-league clubs, and the 4 regional divisions consist of clubs form the Nationwide Football Conference and its feeder leagues. The league is an under 19 league.

There will be matches in the Kent Youth League on Sunday mornings for those boys able to play football at under 18 level. Boys must be under the age of 18 as of midnight on 31st August in the playing season.

Selection for matches and the training is structured and monitored by the Head Coach so that no one is over played or has too busy a schedule.

At youth level we are not solely motivated by winning matches so we select players for matches that are beneficial to their overall development.

The pupils can also improve their football knowledge by taking their first coaching qualification which includes First Aid and Child Protection Courses. After their 2 year course finishes this qualification will allow them to work within Football in the Community schemes, which are run by several football clubs including Deal Town Rangers and could lead to work with local authorities and schools, and this can only enhance their CV's for future careers.
